Senior Management Team

Greg Hammermaster, President

Mr. Hammermaster serves as President of Sage Payment Solutions. He was previously with SunTrust Banks where he was senior vice president of commercial card and payment services in the Treasury and Payment Solutions Division. His responsibilities have included sales, business development, direction of the vision and execution for commercial card practices, and developing strategic partnerships. Mr. Hammermaster has also had experience with a number of online businesses and with Visa International, the world’s largest card network, where he worked with banks in the areas of online merchant services, debit, credit, and payment solutions, and was instrumental in delivering Visa’s first corporate and purchasing card program.

Christine Scappa, SVP, Operations

Chris joined Sage Payment Solutions in February 2000. Prior to this position, she managed an independent Bankcard sales office with a primary focus on Internet Electronic Commerce solutions. Chris also brings a background in Telecommunications with 2 years as the Director of Agent Relations and 2 years as Director of Billing Operations.

At Sage Payment Solutions, Chris currently oversees all phases of the daily management of our growing merchant portfolio including Customer Support, Sales Partner Support, Underwriting, Risk Management, Project Management and Compliance and Quality Assurance and Training. Chris has held several positions of escalating responsibility including Relationship Manager from 2000 until 2001, Director of Client Services from 2002-2004, Vice President of Client Services/Operations from 2004-2007, and Senior Vice President Operations from 2007-present. During her 8 years at Sage, Chris has played a key role in helping the company evolve into the industry leader that it is today.

Robert Bertke, SVP, Product Management

Mr. Bertke serves as Senior Vice President of Product Management. Rob has been in the commercial payments and B2B electronic commerce industry for over 13 years. In 1995, Rob helped Wachovia Bank release its first commercial card products by creating a technology solution for card transaction GL coding and management information reporting. Rob left Wachovia in 1997 to join the American Express Technical Consulting team. As a part of the technology and product management organization, he was a member of the ANSI X12 committee for the development of card specific EDI transactions and acted as product manager and technical consultant for key e-commerce initiatives such as Open Buying on the Internet and level 3 settlement. In 2002, Rob co-founded a software development company providing technology solutions to major corporations and in 2004, Rob joined Open Business Exchange (OB10) as a consultant to support this UK firms’ entry into the US market. Most recently, Rob served as Group Vice President at SunTrust Banks leading the technical implementation group and serving as Product Manager to bring a strategic technology solution to market.

Rick Stanford, SVP, Sales

Rick Stanford serves as Senior Vice President of Sales for Sage Payment Solutions. He has more than 23 year’s leadership experience in the payments industry. Mr. Stanford is responsible for all direct, multi-channel and alliance program sales and support as well as leading the company’s strategic direction through these channels. He has served in various executive management positions in sales, marketing, business management and operations. Prior to joining Sage he was Vice-President with PMT Services, Inc. and was responsible for 8 wholly owned subsidiaries obtained through M&A activities.

Mr. Stanford also participates in regional and national industry organizations, and has Vice-Chaired a number of committees over the past several years. Rick Stanford also served on the Board of Directors for Network 1 Financial prior to its acquisition by Sage. Mr. Stanford received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Memphis.

David Horn, VP, Business Development and Marketing

Since joining Sage in October 1995, David Horn has served in several executive management roles, including vice president of product management, general manager, and senior vice president of customer support. As vice president of business development and marketing for the company’s payment solutions division, he is currently responsible for expanding the market penetration of the company’s full suite of payment solutions which includes, but is not limited to, card, check, and ACH processing.

Before coming to Sage, Horn worked in product management and marketing at Hewlett-Packard for 12 years, with responsibilities for the company’s successful DeskJet color inkjet printers and OfficeJet multi-function products. He was also previously a senior project engineer at Mobil Oil Corporation.

Horn earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from The Pennsylvania State University.

Jamie Kanski, SVP, Finance - CFO

Mr. Kanski serves as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Sage Payment Solutions. He came to Sage in 2009 with more than 17 years of professional experience in increasing roles of responsibility, with a primary focus in mergers, acquisitions, corporate development, and operational finance. He most recently served as chief financial officer and vice president-finance for Misys’ Treasury and Capital Markets, where he was responsible for financially managing the business over four regions: Americas, Europe, Middle East/Africa, and Asia/Pacific. Jamie also previously served as director of global sales operations and director of corporate development for Travelex Group (formerly Ruesch International). He was founder of M&A advisory services firm Stonecroft Capital; worked on Wall Street for RBC Capital Markets’ Mergers & Acquisitions group; and spent eight years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (and Coopers & Lybrand) in positions ranging from associate to vice president-East Coast leader of the firm’s Technology Investment Banking Group. Jamie obtained his undergraduate degree with distinction from Duke University in Durham, N.C., and his JD/MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
